Well, I will not be debating on the never ending arguments related to the existence of God! To some people it is GOD, let me simply put it as god! I am an atheist and I do not believe in the existence of god. This does not mean that I disrespect people’s religious belief. Atheism is defined as the absence of belief in the existence of deities! People hold the argument that god is one and is represented through different deities in different religions. To an atheist, the channels have no meaning. I firmly believe that a person who prays in front of a deity actually does a soul-searching session. People say that after they finish their prayers, they have a feeling of calmness in their hearts – ask them how many times a day do they talk to themselves like that?
For me, deities do not exist! If deities are gods, then god does not exist! Believers can go on and ask the same questions like ‘who created us/this world/trees/blah blah….’ but let us not forget that at one point of this Earth’s life….people thought it to be flat and believed that the Sun goes round it. Science may not have a definite answer now as to the creation of the human species, but that does not mean that god did it!
We make gods…we want to believe in them, we want to leave our tensions/worries to something that we would like to believe controls everything. We want to channelize our materialistic wishes through certain deities…we want to believe that we can be in touch with god through channels (gurus)! I can believe that there is a superior force that controls a lot….but that force can not be brought to life by making deities.
Confidence/self-belief/power of being motivated/encouragement lies in us…to make it short…these are the things that we believe that god will/can give us…so I believe that god or that positive vibe lies within us! We do not have any angel and devil doing a live-together within us…they are our own voices! A man creates his own destiny. When we are born, we dream that this world would be a beautiful place where everything would happen the way we want them to be – this might never happen…circumstances might make our lives different from what we want it to be…but we must be prepared for everything, for life truly is stranger than fiction.
Life is a beautiful thing. It is short, we want to do too many things in one lifetime. Things around us might be very negative….but it takes a smile to be positive and a smile can make someone else smile too. We do not have to depend on any idol to shower blessings….we just need to speak to our own selves, specially in an age where time is most wanted. I am me and you are you because of everything and everyone around you…because of the experiences faced in life. I will not mention the word ’society’ as it is another thing that has got no meaning to me. So let us stay/keep/think positive and not be dependent on the toys of our imaginative minds!
